Balanced Yogic Living in Spiritual Community
Working at Song of the Morning offers the blessing of a yogic living in an established spiritual community with a rich spiritual heritage, away from the noise of the world. Our retreat is nestled in an evergreen forest with wide views to meadows and soothing sounds of Pigeon River flowing peacefully along our retreat grounds.

Meaningful Service
Qualified applicants offer loving full-time service that helps to fulfill our mission as a place of spiritual refreshment and relaxation for all truth thirsty souls. Staff are dedicated to studying and practicing the teachings of Paramahansa Yogananda. Joining as a full time staff member at Song of the Morning is designed to help one gain traction on their spiritual path.
What we look for in staff members
Song of the Morning residential staff members are expected to be committed to studying and living the teachings of Paramahansa Yogananda.
A staff position may be right for you if you are looking for:
Commitment to studying and living the teachings of Paramahansa Yogananda.
Alignment with experiencing a simple lifestyle of “plain living and high thinking.”
A period of time focused more intensely on developing your spiritual life.
Commitment to using and applying the yogic teachings to help you navigate life’s challenges.
Commitment to a regular meditation practice, including attending our group meditations.
Desire to grow and develop interpersonal skills for living in community.
Application Requirements
You are at least 18 years old.
Valid driver’s license to operate vehicles for work-related duties.
Physical stamina to work full-time in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to take instruction well and follow detailed directions.
Ability to work harmoniously and safely with others in a restricted workspace.
Capable of working within deadlines and time constraints.
An established a relationship with Song of the Morning as a guest in the past year, or have completed our Karma Yoga Program in the past two years.
Part-Time Work & Commuters
For those who live locally, we do have opportunities for part-time work to fill daily needs of the retreat especially during peak-season.
We also have part-time hours for remote work in graphic design, social media, and marketing.

Taking the First Steps
If you are interested in joining the staff, we request that you first establish a relationship with Song of the Morning by participating in our month-long Karma Yoga Program or visiting as a guest on a weekend where you can get to know our community more.

We are now accepting Retreat Support Staff applications to join our small team in the northern woods at Song of the Morning. Start dates as early as March.
